On the edge of the beautiful Knysna Lagoon, in the centre of the Garden Route, this spacious beach house offers tranquillity and luxurious comfort complemented by spectacular views of the lagoon and Featherbed Nature Reserve.

After a warm Leisure Isle welcome, take a relaxing stroll across the rippled sand and return to enjoy a glass of wine as the sunsets behind the Western Headland .  Our spacious bedrooms offer wonderful lagoon and garden views and each open onto a private balcony or patio.

Indulge in a fresh, scrumptious breakfast on the terrace each morning while you watch the tides slowly turn beneath the majestic Knysna Heads. Soak up the sun by the swimming pool in Amanzi’s beautiful garden, or enjoy your book under the shelter of the large Milkwood tree, where you’ll be accompanied by a variety of island birds.  We have canoes that you can take out for a paddle on the lagoon and bicycles to explore the Island.

Leisure Isle is very safe and guests can walk around the island day or night.
There are two restaurants on Leisure Isle, and it's best to book in advnace if you'd like to eat on the Island during the summer months. We're happy to make all those reservations for you!

Things to do and see

Amanzi Island Lodge is the perfect place to base yourself for a few days as you explore the many activities of the Garden Route. During your stay you can enjoy anything from a simple game of golf to the highest bungee jump in the world (216 metres high!). You can try a range of water-sports or explore the surrounding beaches and hiking trails.  Knysna also offers a wide variety of fabulous restaurants.  Just let us know what takes your fancy and we`ll gladly make reservations for you.
