Location:

Cybele is situated 420 km east of johannesburg in the heart of mpumalanga between white river and hazyview. It is 40km from the phabeni gate into the kruger national park and close to the top private game reserves in the sabi sands including londolozi, mala mala, idube, inyati, savanna, nottens, leopard hills, dulini, exeter, ulusaba, lion sands, tinga, singita and sabi sabi. Cybele is ideally situated for exploring the magnificent highlights of mpumalanga, including the mac mac falls, god’s window, bourke’s luck potholes, the blyde river canyon and pilgrim’s rest.

From johannesburg:

From midrand/northern suburbs: travel out on the n1 north towards pietersburg. Take the n4 off-ramp to witbank and travel for approximately 390km to nelspruit, via witbank. Follow directions below ‘from nelspruit’.

From southern suburbs and central:

Follow n12 to witbank. Shortly after witbank, road joins n4 to nelspruit. Follow directions below ‘from nelspruit’.

From johannesburg international airport:

On exiting the airport keep left and follow the signs towards r21 boksburg. Before reaching boksburg take the first major turn-off signposted n12 witbank. Shortly after witbank, the road joins n4 to nelspruit. Follow directions below ‘from nelspruit’.

From nelspruit:

On entering nelspruit, turn left at the first traffic lights. Pass through another set of traffic lights and one stop street, and at the next set of traffic lights turn left onto the r40 to white river. At the first traffic light in white river turn left, then at the next traffic light, turn right. Pass through one further set of traffic lights and turn left onto the r40 hazyview road. Travel for 26.6km and turn left onto the spitskop gravel road. Cybele is situated 4.2km along this road on the left hand side.

From hazyview / skukuza / sabi sand private game reserves:

From hazyview turn right to white river on the r40. Continue along this road through burgers hall and turn right at the sign to spitskop. The distance from hazyview to the sign is 18.2km. Cybele is situated 4.2km along this road on the left hand side.
From kruger mpumalanga international airport
Follow the airport signage toward the exit. Continue straight out of the airport, and at the t-junction / stop street, turn right and join onto the r538. Continue straight along this road, following the signs to “white river”. Continue for approximately 10km, until you reach white river. Once in white river, turn right at the t-junction and right again at the traffic lights. Continue straight through two sets of traffic lights, turning left at the third set of traffic lights (just before you exit white river). Continue straight out of white river on the r40 towards hazyview. After approximately 28km, you will see a sign indicating “spitskop” and another sign indicating “cybele forest lodge & spa”. Turn left after these signs. After 500m of tar, you will reach a dirt road. Continue on this dirt road for approximately 4.2 km. Follow all cybele signage from here on. This drive will take you approximately 40 minutes.
