Tropical fruits are abundant on the
coastline, and seafood is plentiful. It is also in this country that a
little known spice called peri-peri is harvested to bring rich flavor to
dishes ranging from chicken to prawn. The overall friendly attitude of Mozambique helps sweeten the scenic views, the gorgeous beaches, and the untamed reefs the country exhibits. Visitors can snorkel around the country's beautiful islands, or take a
boat ride through mangrove channels. Off-beat safaris are also part of
Mozambique's draw. Whether vacationers explore the bustling cities or
the rural areas, the country's trademark marrabenta music lends its
lively tones to all regions of Mozambique. Though many of the country's attractions were inaccessible for nearly 20 years due to guerrilla warfare, peace has been restored, and Mozambique is one of Africa's up-and-coming destinations. For those who prefer a tamer environment, southern Mozambique offers good-quality roads and transportation. However, for the adventurers, there is plenty of fun to be had in the northern part of the country. Overall, Mozambique has something to offer everyone. |
