South Africa is one of the best places in the world to get off the beaten path and explore parts of the Earth’s wilderness that are only available to the hardiest of hikers, or the most adventurous 4X4 explorers. 4X4 events, especially when experienced through a club, are a fantastic way to meet other travellers and adventurers. The Boegoeberg Trail is, many claim, one of the best 4X4 trails in South Africa. It boasts spectacular panoramic views, a stone house two and a half kilometers from the base, and a campsite. Routes average a 4 grading. Luxurious facilities are also available.
South Africa boast around 800 registered caravan parks and campsites, and is one of the greatest 4X4 destinations on earth. It’s no wonder that 4X4 trails in South Africa are, within the 4X4 community, the stuff of legend.
