The Perfect Wine Tasting Excursion

The Cape Winelands contains a wide variety of wine growing areas, each providing their specific wine route. Some of the most popular areas which are perfect for wine tasting are Constantia, Stellenbosch, Welligton, Paarl, Franschhoek and Robertson.

Stellenbosch: It is one of the most famous wine areas and it contains different kinds of cellars. It generates some of the tastiest wines. This is a small town and it consists of many museums, bars, cafes and restaurants. The wine estates of Stellenbosch which offer a good wine tasting are Amani Vineyards, Avontuur Estate, Bilton Wines, Camberley, Delaire Winery,Eikendal vineyards etc.

Stellenbosch wine farm is very near Cape Town and it can be reached within 45 minutes from the city center. Small wine estates are very suitable for enjoying the rustic cellar sipping wines along with the wine maker. As different varieties of activities such as wine tasting, cellar tours and enjoying the scenery of different kinds of wine farms can be performed in Stellenbosch, it is recommended to make a perfect plan before visiting Stellenbosch.

Franschhoek: The guesthouses, cafes, restaurants of Franschhoek have a high influence of French style. Wine festivals take place often in Franschhoek. This village is called as the capital of food and wine of the world as it contains eight of the most popular restaurants of South Africa. Wine tasting in the Franschhoek Vineyards Cooperative wines is very famous.

Paarl Wineland: This is the 2nd oldest wine route of South Africa. Backsberg Estate’s cellars , sprawling cellars and pot stills are perfect for touring. Zandwijk is the one and only South African place where the Kosher wines are produced.

Wellington Wineland:
This region mostly consists of small sized wineries which are run usually by families. Wine can be purchased after adding a specific label at Boveli.

Klein Karoo: This route is suitable for visiting ostriches and wines at the same time. Flagship ports of Boplass Estate has one of the most superior quality.

Worcester: This route is triangular extending from Villersdorp to Woseley and Worcester. Wineries such as Brandvlei and Merwida cooperatives are present here.

Robertson: Wines with perfect compositions are produced here due to the presence of lime-rich soils in this area. Racehorse and roses are also very famous here.

Cape Winelands is very famous for its excellent natural beauty, cultural heritages and world class wines. The produced here has a superior quality and it is exported to different parts of the world.
