Looking for a wet and wild adventure? uShaka Marine World is both! uShaka Marine World is located in Durban, South Africa. From dolphin shows to water slides to walking on the ocean floor, uShaka Marine World is a wet and wild adventure.

It is an amusement park, water park, shopping haven, aquarium and dining palace all rolled into one. This is one park not to be missed. uShaka Marine World opened its doors April 20th, 2004. It is open 365 days a year.

Wet and Wild

Want to cool off? The park offers many water slides with twists and turns to get the heart pumping. There are even slides for the kiddies. There are eleven water slides, from slides for heart pumping, adrenaline rush thrill seekers, to tube rides for the meek. Which ever category is taken, there will be a ride to fit the bill.

Aquarium

uShaka Marine World is the 5th largest aquarium in the world and the largest in the southern hemisphere. The aquarium includes over 500 meters of under ground viewing of aquatic life. There are three dolphin shows daily. There are also seal shows. The aquarium boasts over 63 African pelicans. For those that are daring, three up close and personal underwater activities can take place. Those activities include the shark dive, snorkel lagoon, and ocean walk. With the shark dive, the person is placed in a cage to view sharks up close and personal. Snorkel lagoon is snorkeling while viewing underwater life. Ocean walk is literally walking on the ocean floor.

The beach

If water rides is not your thing, then spend some time at uShaka beach. One can plant themselves on the sand or one the grass. Beach activities include many different sport activities. One can also charter a boat to do some dolphin watching.

Shopping and dining

After a day of adventure, settle down by visiting the Village Walk. The Village Walk is an open air market with over 80 specialty stores and restaurants. It is a consumer's paradise with everything from soup to nuts. Restaurants include everything from ice cream to fast food to sit down dining. There should be no problem finding something to treat the palate.

Kids

If the kids are getting restless, take them to Rayz Kids World. This is a prime place for kids 2 to 10 years old. Activities include Africa's largest jungle gym, a giant sandpit, and a painting paradise.
