Table Mountain, located in southwestern South Africa, near Cape Town , is
an excellent sightseeing location for anyone visiting the area. Table
Mountain is a unique flat-topped mountain nearly three kilometers long,
providing tourists with a beautiful overlook of Cape Town. This location
is also an excellent place for visitors to hike, seeing the unique
flora and fauna of the region in this beautiful experience.
Many visitors also choose to take a cable car to the top of the
mountain, where visitors can roam around and take pictures and look over
into Cape Town. Table Mountain is a popular place for visitors to take
their cameras, especially during the sunset, since the view from the
mountain is absolutely astonishing. Visitors can also camp, hike, and
explore this area with the Table Mountain National Park. Table Mountain National Park has been recognized as a natural World
Heritage Site for its extensive population of unique flora and fauna in
the area. The park has become a huge contributor to Cape Town's economy,
and has introduced a number of people to the wonders of Table Mountain.
The park has been encouraging indigenous foresting of the area,
planting a number of new trees in recent years. Table Mountain National
Park workers have been working hard to make sure that this natural site
is preserved in all its beauty. Almost all of the park areas are open free to the public, while 1/3 of
park activities require a small fee. Volunteers help to make sure that
hiking paths are visible and maintained, as well as keep an eye out for
any possible danger on the trails. Park rangers are also available on
the trails and around the Table Mountain National Park in order to
provide assistance and maintain security. There is no doubt that Table Mountain is a natural wonder of the world. Its rich biodiversity and its extraordinary physical beauty will attract any traveling tourist to Cape Town to hike or sightsee.
